Mohammad Rizwan is a Pakistani cricketer who plays for the Pakistan national cricket team. He is a right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper. Rizwan made his Test debut against Australia in October 2019. In January 2020, he was added to Pakistan’s Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their series against Bangladesh. Early Life

Mohammad Rizwan was born in 1987 in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. He is the youngest of four children. His father, Mohammad Siddique, was a businessman and his mother, Zeenat Bibi, was a homemaker.

Rizwan had an early interest in cricket and began playing at an academy when he was just six years old. He quickly showed promise as a batsman and wicket-keeper and went on to play for his school and district teams.

In 2004, Rizwan made his first-class debut for Lahore Whites. The following year, he played for the Pakistan Under-19 team in the 2006 Under-19 World Cup. He scored two half-centuries in the tournament and impressed with his mature batting style.

After a string of good performances at the domestic level, Rizwan was selected for Pakistan’s Test squad for their tour of England in 2010. However, he did not get a chance to play in any of the matches on that tour.

Rizwan finally made his Test debut against Sri Lanka in Galle in 2015. He scored an unbeaten century in the second innings of that match and followed it up with another hundred in the next Test match at Colombo. With those two centuries, Rizwan became only the third Pakistani batsman to score a century on Test debut

Mohammad Rizwan is married to Fazeela Rizwan and the couple has four children. His father, Mohammad Javed, was a first-class cricketer who played for Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Rizwan’s brothers, Adnan and Rehan, have also played cricket at the regional level.

Rise Of An Underdog

From a humble background in the Pakistani city of Karachi, Mohammad Rizwan rose to become one of the country’s most successful cricket captains. Aged just 27, he led his team to victory in the 2017-18 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy – Pakistan’s premier first-class tournament.

The following year, Rizwan was appointed captain of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province for the 2018-19 National T20 Cup. He led his side to the final, where they narrowly lost out to Punjab.

Despite this setback, Rizwan’s performances earned him a place in Pakistan’s Twenty20 International squad for their series against Australia in October 2019. And he made an immediate impact, scoring an unbeaten century in his second match as Pakistan secured a shock 2-0 series win.

With his blend of attacking strokeplay and calm leadership, Mohammad Rizwan is fast establishing himself as one of Pakistan cricket’s brightest talents.

Rizwan was born in Islamabad, Pakistan on February 26, 1991, and is 5 feet 10 inches (1.78 meters) tall. He generally plays as a right-handed batsman and occasional right-arm off-spin bowler. As of October 2020, his Test match batting average is 32.81 and his ODI batting average is 36.80. Rizwan made his Test debut for Pakistan against Australia in October 2019 at the Gabba in Brisbane.

Rizwan has played first-class cricket for several domestic teams in Pakistan since 2007, including Federal Areas, Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited cricket team, Khan Research Laboratories, Sui Southern Gas Corporation, Islamabad Leopards, Rawalpindi Rams and Lahore Qalandars. He also captained the Pakistan Under-19 team in 2010.

Mohammad Rizwan made his first-class debut for Khan Research Laboratories in the 2009–10 season. In the 2012–13 season, he was the leading run-scorer in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, with 995 runs at an average of 99.50. and January 2014, he was signed by Peshawar Zalmi to played for Pakistan Super League (PSL).  the  season 2018–19 Regional Super50, he was the leading run-scorer for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with 533 runs at an average of 53.30.

In February 2020, Mohammad Rizwan was added to Pakistan’s Test squad for their series against Bangladesh. He made his Test debut on 7 February 2020, scoring 46 runs in the first innings.
