In the first ODI, which was postponed due to rain on Thursday, South Africa defeated India by a score of nine runs. Despite some strong hits from Shardul Thakur (33 off 31 balls), Lungi Ngidi (3/52) claimed 2 wickets in the 38th over to put an end to India’s momentum. Taking two wickets himself was Kasigo Rabada (2/36).
